Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data RevestEdu collects, why, and what rights you have over it. RevestEdu is a gamified financial-literacy platform for individuals and organisations (schools, banks). Nothing on this platform involves real money, real securities, or real financial transactions — see our Terms and Conditions for detail on that.
1. What we collect
When you create an account and use RevestEdu, we collect:
- Account details: your name (or organisation name), email address, and account type (individual or organisation).
- Learning data: lesson progress, completed activities, streaks, XP, and mini-game results.
- Simulated market data: your simulated portfolio holdings, cash balance, and trade history — all play money, never connected to a real bank or brokerage account.
- Usage data: basic session information needed to keep you logged in and the app working correctly.
We do not collect payment card details, real bank account information, or government ID.
2. How we use it
Your data is used only to operate and improve RevestEdu: authenticating you, saving your progress, calculating your simulated portfolio, and showing organisations (like a school) the progress of their own students where that relationship exists. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Who we share it with
We use Supabase as our backend data processor — it stores your account and progress data on our behalf and is bound by its own data protection commitments. If you're an individual learner linked to an organisation account (e.g. a school), that organisation can see your lesson progress within RevestEdu, but not your login credentials. We don't share your data with any other third party.
4. Cookies and local storage
RevestEdu uses only the storage necessary to make the site work:
- A session token (via Supabase) that keeps you logged in.
- A local preference for muting in-lesson sound effects.
- A record of your cookie-banner choice, so we don't ask again every visit.
We don't currently use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. If that changes, this policy — and the cookie banner — will be updated first.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and progress data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we'll delete it within a reasonable period, except where we're required to keep limited records for legal reasons.
6. Under-18 users
RevestEdu is built for teens learning financial literacy. We collect the minimum data needed to run the platform, and no simulated activity ever touches real money. If you're a parent or guardian with questions about a young person's account, contact us using the details below.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to ask us to restrict or object to how we use it. See our GDPR Compliance page for the full detail on how to exercise these rights.
8. Security
We rely on our infrastructure provider's industry-standard security practices (encryption in transit, access-controlled databases) to protect your data. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know directly.
